Brief School History

Muthiga Girls’ High School is a Girls Boarding school. It is located in Githungucu Sub-Location, Ngenda Location, Gatundu South Constituency in Kiambu County, about two kilometers from Gatundu town along Gatundu – Juja route. The school neighbors’ Muthiga Primary school. It is a Extra-County school under the sponsorship of the Catholic Church, the Arch Diocese of Nairobi.

The Five acres of the school houses all the school facilities that include the administration block, the tuition block, the laboratories, the library, dining hall, boarding area as well as the staff quarters. Although there is limited space there is hope for future vertical expansion.

The school has grown since 1983 from its first enrolment of 11 students as a mixed school, under the management of the head teacher, Mr Kamiri, of Muthiga primary school. The current dormitories were a donation from the primary school. The current enrolment is five hundred and fifty students with a staff of twenty teachers and seven support staff.

 In reference to our School Motto: Strive to Conquer, we are looking forward to producing an all round student who will bring a positive impact to her society and beyond.
